Helsinki City Theatre
The Helsinki City Theatre is planned by Timo Penttilä and is considered to be one of the milestones of modern Finnish architecture. The original part was completed in 1967 and the extension, Studio Elsa, in 1989. The planning work is carried out in accordance with the requirements for building protection that the city of Helsinki has made.
The basic renovation project is based on renewal within the framework of the restrictions that the demanding constructions and safety regulations stipulate. The aim is for the building to consider strict requirements for energy efficiency, ecology and life-cycle perspectives.
The project is implemented in all planning disciplines as a so-called BIM project. The 3D models are combined to ensure compatibility between the different installations, and to make energy analyses.
