Helsinki Central Railway Station development project

Helsinki Central Railway Station, designed by architect Eliel Saarinen and completed in 1919, is an iconic landmark in the heart of the city. We are involved in the development of the station.

The goal of the development project initiated by VR Group is to make the station more accommodating for passengers and city residents, as well as to improve the station and its surroundings’ comfort and safety.

A-Konsultit are responsible for the architectural design of the project in collaboration with the Arkkitehtuuri- ja muotoilutoimisto Talli. The station building is protected under the Heritage Conservation Act and within the city zoning plan, and any modifications, repairs, and restoration planning will be carried out in close cooperation with the National Board of Antiquities and the building control authorities.
